Hey everybody! It's almost time for another Dan Potacke Show.
This time, Dan sits down with Baristacide's Educational Davis. Baristacide is a charming band filled with some charming lads that will soon be going on hiatus. Potacke will ask Mr. Educational why you should make sure to check out one of the band's remaining gigs while you still have a chance.
We'll also be joined by legendary Catskill comedian Mystic Rivers. His brand of observational humor about his wife has been making audiences laugh for decades.
As always, we'll have skits, stand-up and the Wheel of Fantasticness. Also, as always, we'll be at the Frequency and start at 7:00 PM. One more as always, no cover.
It's time for another Dan Potacke Show! Except this one is also a birthday party! For Dan Potacke!
Dan Potacke will accept your presents and cards. Cakes as well. Cakes with candles, of course.
Coming to celebrate Potacke's birthday will be the folks from What's Your Damage? - A show where people read from the most meaningful/embarrassing documents from their teenage years. After a couple years of hibernation, What's Your Damage is coming back April 19th at the Johnson Public House.
We'll also have stand-up from struggling local comedian Alan Talaga. It's his birthday this month as well so Potacke lets him have a few minutes once-a-year for this very occasion.
That's April 11th at 7 PM at the Frequency, 121 W Main. As always, it's 18+ and there is no cover to attend.
Top of the morning to ya! It's almost time for St. Patrick's Day, when something happened with snakes or Ireland or Catholicism or food dye falling into beer or something. We'll be celebrating whatever that event was with a special Dan Potacke Show!
Joining me will be local theatre guy Rob O'Matsushita. He's directing the new play "Superhero Boogie" at Broom Street Theatre. The show, which runs from March 22nd to April 13th, features performers acting out bad children's records from the 1970's.
Additionally, we'll have stand-up from Mr. Nate Bjork. Nate has started posting ultra-short movie reviews on his website, natebjork.com. Here's a ultra-ultra-short review of his stand-up: funny.
As always, we are at The Frequency, 121 W Main St. There is no cover and the show is 18+.
When negotiating dates for the show with The Frequency, I settled upon the second Thursday of the month. I totally forgot that February 14th is a day that has some signifigance. So get ready for THE DAN POTACKE 4TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL THAT ALSO HAPPENS TO BE OCCURING ON THE EXACT DATE OF VALENTINE'S DAY!
COUPLES: We'll be pulling out all the stops to make this an amazing date. We're offering a VALENTINE'S PACKAGE featuring: HEART-SHAPED PIZZA! (by heart-shaped pizza, I mean that I'll cut one of The Frequency's frozen pizzas into a heart shape for you) and a bottle of CHAMPAGNE of beers (Miller High Life). The Valentine's Package costs whatever it costs to buy a pizza and a High Life at The Frequency.
SINGLES: Come on out, your soul mate will probably be in the audience. I totally think they will.
Joining me this time will be local musician Vanessa Tortolano. She sings, she also does improv, she makes drinks out of fungus and she was born in Hawaii but lives here for some reason I don't understand. Those will be fun things for me to ask her about, you'll enjoy watching our banter.
We'll also have comedy from Jay Abbondanza. He's a charming soul who deserves to have articles written about his comedic prowess.
It's 2013! That means it is a completely different year than the last time we had a Potacke Show! How was your holiday season? Don't tell me now! Tell me on January 24th at my show!
oining me for the first Potacke of '13 will be Annabel Lee and Rockwell Rice from A Torrid Affair! Annabel writes songs and signs songs. Writing AND singing, for those who remember Econ 102, that's vertical integration! Rockwell plays every instrument you and possibly imagine and some you can't! A tigerphone? HE CAN PLAY IT!
We'll also have stand-up by Jason Punswick. Jason's laughter is incredibly loud. His giggles have an auditory range of about half a mile. DON'T ASK HOW NOISY A CHORTLE WOULD BE!
Come on out on January 24th to see these fun people. As always, we're at The Frequency. 7 PM, no cover.
PLUS: On February 14th, it's THE DAN POTACKE 4TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL!!! I don't think there anything special going on that day so plan to come.
