4/19 Dan Potacke's Birthday Special with artist John Kovalic and Evan Davis
April 12th, 2012HAPPY BIRTHDAY! TO DAN POTACKE! THAT'S ME!

On April 19th, come on out and celebrate my birthday at a special Dan Potacke Show!
Joining me, ON MY BIRTHDAY, will be artist and man about town John Kovalic. John is the artist behind the thrice-weekly comic strip Dork Tower and the illustrator of the board game Munchkin. However, his most notable achievement is the creation of the scientific measurement term 'milliwheaton,' which is used to measure the number of followers you have on Twitter. A milliwheaton of Twitter followers is 1/1000th of the followers held by Stand By Me & Star Trek: TNG star Wil Wheaton.
We'll also have stand-up by Evan Davis, a comedian from NEW YORK CITY! That's where Phillip Seymour Hoffman and the world's biggest banks live. That's not all, we'll have skits & prizes from the Wheel of Fantasticness. Prizes are basically presents. Who gives out presents on their own birthday? A GREAT GUY! That's who.
After the show, we'll waste our leftover energy celebrating the birthday of local "comedian" Alan Talaga who happens to share a birthday with me.
Dan Potacke Show - 3rd Anniversary Special w/ Dave Cieslewicz
February 17th, 2012
Hi, Dan Potacke here!
Three years is a long time. Not as long as the term of Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, or as long as the lifespan of a tortoise, but it is a decently long amount of time. The Dan Potacke Show celebrates its decently long run with a 3rd Annive...rsary Spectacular!
3 years to the day of the premiere of The Dan Potacke Show on February 23rd, 2009, we will have surprise guests, amazing prizes, self-referential skits and more in a celebration of 3 years of shows.
Joining me for the celebration will be Dave Cieslewicz, who served as Madison's mayor from 2003-2011 and currently writes columns as ‘Citizen Dave’ for Isthmus. Dave is a charming fellow who can go from effortlessly funny to policy wonk in 30 seconds, watch me struggle to keep up with him!
Additionally, we'll have stand-up by Adam Waldron. Adam has lost a ton of weight over the run of the Potacke Show. If he continues losing weight at this rate, he may eventually weigh nothing and CEASE TO EXIST! So see him now, before entropy takes him.
The Dan Potacke Show is a modern variety hour featuring sketch comedy, stand-up and interviews with guests from a wide spectrum of Madison life. The show takes place at 7 PM at the Frequency, 121 W. Main St. As always, there is no cover and you must be at least 18 to attend. For more information, check out http://explosionofawesome.net/.
Dan Potacke Show- 9/4 at Rock Co Folk Symposium & 9/8 w/ Mark Reichers, Brain Fart Theatre & Andy Schoonhoven
September 2nd, 2011The Dan Potacke Show returns for Fall!

This time, Dan welcomes Mark Riechers to the show. Mark is a freelancer for the AV Club - Madison, specializing in his whimsical rundown of local news items in the regular News Net column. Mark also writes about video games on Twitter so prepare to sit back and watch Dan & Mark geek out about that.
We'll also have a special film presentation from local creatives Brain Fart Theatre. They make short films but the films are not short on entertainment!
Stand-up comedy will be provided by Andy Schoonhoven. Andy is a refugee of North Dakota so prepare to hear jokes about how much he hates South Dakota.
All that plus: skits, the Wheel of Fantasticness and awkward transitions between bits!
ALSO: WE'LL BE DOING A SPECIAL DAN POTACKE SHOW AT THE ROCK COUNTY FOLK SYMPOSIUM THIS SUNDAY AROUND 5:30 PM. Come on out and see us tell jokes in an undisclosed location in the woods!
8/11 - Dan Potacke Show w/ Lamentable Tragedie of Scott Walker & Chris Waelti
August 4th, 2011Hey everybody, it's time for another Dan Potacke Show! Are you excited? I am! I will assume you are too!
With great reviews, sold-out shows & a mention on Rachel Maddow's blog, the new play The Lamentable Tragedy of Scott Walker has already opened to tremendous success. Now they continue to ride their wave of success with the ultimate honor... appearing on The Dan Potacke Show! Writer/Director Doug Reed and several cast members w...ill be stopping by to explain what it has been like reenacting recent politics through the veil of a quasi-Shakespearean epic. They might even perform a scene for us!
That should easily be enough to get you to come on out but there's more... THERE'S WAELTI!

Formerly-local comedian Chris Waelti was a fixture of The Dan Potacke Show for the first several months of the show and I am honored to have him back. Now that he is a New York comedian, I assume most of his jokes will be about subway rats & how things where he lives are different than how things are in L.A.
Wow, what a great show!
As always, it's at the Frequency, 121 W Main St. Madison, WI. 7 PM - No cover, 18+
