August 31st Show Videos!!!!!!!!!

September 21st, 2009

In this episode, Dan Potacke outlines his campaign to run for governor of Wisconsin. Potacke also bids a fond farewell to comedian Chris Waelti as Chris moved on from Madison to NYC.

WYOU Executive Director Barbara Bolan sits down to chat about the new direction for the longtime Madison public access tv channel. And Bessie Cherry and Wyndham Manning preview the Forward Music Festival... which wrapped up right before this video went online, ah, so amazingly un-timely.

Dan Potacke Show - September 14th

September 9th, 2009

The Dan Potacke Show returns on September 14th as Dan welcomes Rob Matsushita, Kitty Rhombus and comedian Nate Bjork.

Rob Matsushita will be on to promote the play he is directing,Cat's Paw, as well as his new movie The Girls and the new web-series he will be starting soon starring Emily Mills. Rob actually has more projects than just that, but to simply list everything creative this man is involved with would take longer than the scheduled length of the interview.

Members of the band Kitty Rhombus will present all of the energy and inspiration of their musical act, except it will be in interview form. Perhaps some armpit hair will be lit on fire, who knows.

Comedian Nate Bjork will tell jokes and you will laugh. Particularly because you are scared that he will beat you up if you don't laugh but also because he is very funny.

All that and bicycle safety tips from Sean and Dan Potacke will probably say some stuff too.

Here is a clip of Kitty Rhombus at a recent show they had at the High Noon Saloon:

And here is a trailer for Rob Matsushita's play Cat's-Paw.
Warning: This video has lots of sweet-looking guns in it!

And here is a clip of Nate Bjork's comedy.
Warning: Explicit Language (I don't know for sure, I don't have speakers on this computer.)

Also, the show gets interrupted by anti-health care protester Chris, Potacke shows the audience the pilot for his new PBS series and Dan Potacke tries to sell the audience on Dan Potacke: Wedding Planner!

August 31st Show Preview and Dan Potacke announces his run for Governor of Wisconsin!

August 26th, 2009
With Jim Doyle out of the WI governor's race, Dan Potacke is throwing his hat into the ring. Well, he would if he could afford to buy a hat.

Support the Potacke campaign by coming to The Dan Potacke Show on Monday, August 31st at 6 p.m. at the Frequency. See, that was a good transition.

This Monday, it will be a packed edition of The Dan Potacke show as Potacke welcomes the organizers of the Forward Music Festival. They will discuss the challenges of putting together such a large festival and Potacke will ask why he wasn’t chosen to open for Andrew Bird. Barbara Bolan, Executive Director of WYOU, will add to the fun as she describes her experiences as sales manager for I.R.S. Records and how she is using her experience in the music industry to revamp and revitalize community television. Comedian David Leon will open the show with a set that’s showing why he’s quickly becoming known as one of the freshest, most exciting comedians in Madison.

Plus, there will be a magician. THAT’S RIGHT, A MAGICIAN. Magician Nick Wiszynski will end the night with an amazing show of illusion and wonder.

All that, and a special farewell to longtime Madison comedian Chris Waelti on his final night in Wisconsin before he moves to NYC to find his fame and fortune. Chris Waelti has appeared in some capacity in the vast majority of Dan Potacke Shows. Here's a clip from his appearance in the 8/17 show as an angry protester who thinks he is at a health care town-hall meeting.

The show is at the Frequency at 6 pm and is FREE for those 21 and up. It's going to be a blast!

August 3rd - Dan Potacke Show w/ Lords of the Trident

July 29th, 2009

I made this poster in MS Paint as opposed to my usual Photoshop, can you tell?

Hi, everybody, it's Dan Potacke! I'm really excited for my next show!

This time, I'm going to welcome "the most metal band on Earth," the :> Lords of the Trident. :> Well, 4/5ths of them. They are going to bring the godly power they have over both amplifiers and the forces of evil and bring it to the Frequency for a nice chat.

Also, we've got Adam Waldron on, he's putting on a screening of a new Zack Galifianakis movie called Visioneers. Before the movie, he's going to have a live comedy show featuring lots of people... including me. Wow, cross promotion!

Also appearing that night, comedian Mike Schmidt. He's recently had a video that reached the top 10 on a Comedy Central online contest, so he'll be too big to get on this show before long.

As always, the show is at the Frequency (121 W. Main). The show starts at 6 pm and it's absolutely FREE!
