April 14th- Dan Potacke Show - Dan Potacke's Birthday!
April 10th, 2011This Thursday, it's my birthday party! Yay! Birthday! We'll be celebrating my big day with another Dan Potacke Show... Now at our new regular slot of the 2nd & 4th Thursdays of the month at 7 PM.

Joining me for birthday fun will be Phil Ejercito. Phil has been doing amazing photography around the Madison area for years taking amazing concert shots and newspaper cover photos of peoples' butts getting grabbed. Recently, Phil shot some footage during the protests that was wanted by none other than Fox News. Sigh, sadly not all the news is good.
Our stand-up "comedian" will be Alan Talaga. Since he shares a birthday with me, I let him do his "act" once a year at my birthday show. Just get a drink at the bar during his "set." Thursday, April 14th at the Frequency! 7 pm, no cover!

March 17th: Dan Potacke Show - St Patrick's Day Special
March 15th, 2011
You are going out for St. Patrick's Day anyway so why not head down to The Dan Potacke Show - St. Patrick's Day Special on Thursday, March 17th at 7:00 PM. We'll have all the St. Patrick's Day traditions like: shamrocks, beer, things-that-are-not-normally-green-turned-green, and... well, that's about it. There's really not a lot to the holiday. Parades, I guess. I could try to get us a parade. We will have some jokes too, probably... some stuff about current Wisconsin politics, that sort of thing.
We'll also have fabulous guests like KelsyAnne Schoenhaar from Encore Studio for the Performing Arts, Wisconsin’s only professional theatre company for people with disabilities. She'll be discussing Encore's new play "Not Always A Parent" opening March 25th!
Also stopping by will be Thor from Tiger Clutch. Tiger Clutch, the band with the longest backstory in Madison, will be playing at the Frequency right after The Dan Potacke Show and lead singer Thor will be sitting down for an exclusive pre-show interview.
The fabulous Chris Lay will also do some stand-up comedy. He also has a well-sculpted lower body!
As always, it's at the Frequency and there is 18+ and NO COVER! It's Thursday, March 17th and the show starts promptly at 7 PM!
Talagacast Bonus: Paging Scott Walker
March 15th, 2011The next Talagacast is coming out in a couple weeks but until then, here's a short BONUS podcast to tide you over until then. You see, my governor, Mr. Scott Walker, is trying to do this little ole' union busting thing while, at the same time, refusing to speak with anyone who disagrees with him. So some guy in Buffalo tried to prank call him with hilarious (and terrifying) results.
Since it worked so well decided to try the same thing and here is the live audio of my several prank calls to Gov. Scott Walker.

In February 2009, a man had a dream. His dream was to create the most moderately-successful happy-hour comedy/talk/variety hour in the history of Madis...on, WI. Two years later, Dan Potacke has achieved his dream and now he wants the people to come out and share in the celebration with him. On February 24th, it's The Dan Potacke Show: 2nd Anniversary Special.

“In my wildest fantasies, I only expected to have this show last for about two months,” said Dan Potacke.
Prepare for a night full of magic: there will be jokes and skits but there will also be tears. For two years, the Wheel of Fantasticness has given audience members the chance to play amazing games with wondrous prizes, but alas, the Wheel has taken its last spin. At this show, the original Wheel of Fantasticness will be retired and a new Wheel, named the Son of The Wheel of Fantasticness Junior, will be introduced in an epic ceremony.
Two of Dan Potacke’s favorite guests will be sitting down for new interviews to talk about their current projects and how an appearance on The Dan Potacke Show changed their lives. Mr. Shane O’Neill, of Screaming Cyn Cyn and the Pons and Shane Shane fame, will chat about his recent adventures travelling and touring throughout these United States. Rob Matsushita will give the audience a preview of his back-to-back shows he is writing and directing for Broom Street Theatre, a play with the curious title “Hitler Was Right” and a collection of shorts called “And Other Plays.”
The show will also feature stand-up comedy from Adam Waldron. Adam is one of the funniest and busiest comics in Wisconsin, regularly performing for crowds throughout the Midwest.
It's at the Frequency, 121 W Main St. No cover but you must be 18+ to attend.
