After being unable to make it to Wisconsin back in September, comedian JAMES ADOMIAN will brave the December cold to make his first appearance in Madison as part of THE BREAKING EVEN TOUR.
...James Adomian is a daredevil dancing queen renowned for the many masks he wears and his fiery populist satire -- but don't you know deep down he's just a kitten? James was a top-10 finalist on the most recent season of LAST COMIC STANDING and is a frequent contributor to COMEDY DEATH-RAY RADIO and other wild podcasts. He performs standup and characters live at UPRIGHT CITIZENS BRIGADE and at festivals, theatres, dive bars, party schools and radical political events across North America. Other credits include HAROLD & KUMAR ESCAPE FROM GUANTANAMO BAY, THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH CRAIG FERGUSON, and THE ONION RADIO NEWS, along with several underground cartoons and failed t.v. pilots. Check out his hit videos on FUNNY OR DIE, ATOM and YOUTUBE -- and keep your chins up, you gorgeous nerdsluts: it's High Noon in the Garden of Good & Evil!
The show will also feature comedians ALAN TALAGA, JOANNE PONIATOWSKI, and DAVID LEON. Alan Talaga switches from poop jokes to politics at the drop of a hat. JoAnne Poniatowski is a UW-Madison student who has been performing standup around Madison for 3 years. David Leon is a comedian who likes to take the audience on a ride through the manic recesses of his mind and leave them with a smile.
Put away your Feingold funeral pyres, it's time for another Dan Potacke Show! It's the last show before Halloween so bring a dish to pass... a dish of laughter! Because it's some sort of metaphorical potluck of mirth, not a real potluck. Health code laws prevent us from having a real potluck.
November 15th, I will be joined onstage by the fabulous band Sexy Ester & The Pretty Mama Sisters. They will be hyping their CD release party which takes place December 3rd at the Frequency! Yay for venue cross promotion!
We will also have jokes from comedian Stephanie Sherlund!
There will be other fun things too!
Monday, November 15th at the Frequency (121 W Main St Madison, WI). As always, NO COVER!!!!
I know what you are thinking: "I'm so bored between Halloween and Election Day, what am I going to do?"
I've got an answer for ya, you are going to come to the Dan Potacke Show!
Joining us this time will be Jesse Russell. Jesse was the first guest we ever had on the Potacke Show back on Feb. 23, 2009! Now he's back to talk about the ramifications of the midterm elections.
I assume there will be jokes about the elections and well as jokes about other things! It will be lots of fun!
We'll also have a comedian as soon as I confirm one!
It's Nov. 1st at 6:30 at the Frequency (121 W Main). As always, NO COVER!
The witching hour approaches. That is, if you consider the witching hour to be 6:30 PM. On a night that's almost two weeks before Halloween.
On Monday, October 18th, prepare for the frightful terrors of the Dan Potacke Halloween Special! The same sort of jokes as usual but with vaguely Halloween-y premises!
Joining Dan Potacke will be John Kovalic, the writer and creator of popular webcomic Dork Tower and the co-founder of Out of the Box games! He's worked on games including Apples to Apples and Munchkin. He could clearly be doing better things with his time than coming on this show!
Also gracing the stage will be comedian Jason Stephens. Last time, he was interviewed. Now, he'll be telling hilarious jokes!
Come on out to The Frequency, 121 W. Main St. No cover, 21+. It will be a terror-ific show!
This Saturday, Alan Talaga opens for Doug Stanhope at High Noon Saloon.
From Doug's bio: Doug Stanhope is a stand-up comic. Has been since 1990. His material ranges from true-life graphic perversion to volatile social criticism. Doug is vulgar, opinionated, brutally honest and shockingly uninhibited and is certainly not for everybody.
This man is very filthy and very funny. Tickets are $20 and are available online at: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/117164, show starts at 7 pm.
Then, on Monday, it's Potacke time!
The man defines Madison, he is the unofficial ambassador of everything fun that the city has to offer. He is: ART PAUL!
Fresh from his appearances on America's Got Talent and the Big 10 Network and his mention on The Colbert Report, I am proud to announce that living legend Art Paul Schlosser will be appearing on The Dan Potacke Show on Monday, October 4th. Art Paul will be sitting down with Dan Potacke for an interview and then Art will give a little musical performance to the crowd.
Also appearing: the band "Godzilla vs. the Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas." I believe this is their first live performance. I've heard the song they are going to perform, it's hot! But not too hot that it's painful, if this band were coffee, they would be at a good sipping temperature.
We'll also have jokes by Comedian Phil Harrelson! Interesting fact, contrary to Scandinavian tradition, Phil's dad is not named Harrel.
